The construction of the Center on medicine development in Volgograd will be completed by the middle of the year

The first stage of the scientific center construction within the scopes of establishing the chemical-pharmaceutical cluster in Volgograd, according to preliminary estimates will be completed in the second quarter of 2017.

As informed by Volga-Kaspiy News at the press-service of the regional committee on industry and trade, the cost of the construction and putting into exploitation the scientific area on the base of the Volgograd state medical university is estimated at 1 billion rubles. The total cost of expenses to fulfill the project will be 7.1 billion rubles, which will result in creation of 680 new jobs.

It is anticipated that through the establishment of the scientific center the efficiency of pharmaceutical industry could be reached, the share of innovative medications in the Russian market could be increased and the importation of expensive foreign medicines will be reduced. After the final completion of construction, modern medications meeting the international standards will be created. Currently, the major part of the works has already been completed: the center is connected to the water supply systems, there is an independent transformer substation set up, the purchased equipment is being tested. Soon the building will also have its own boiler room.

Because of the edits in the design documentation, there have been signed agreements on performing works that have not been planned by the preliminary design documents. This very additional works will be completed by the middle of the year.

After the completion of construction of the scientific center, the project on establishing the pharmaceutical cluster will be forwarded to the second stage of fulfillment, which foresees the launching of the first production line of medications based on the GMP standards.
