Between January and June 2019, Russia imported 31.9 bln RUB worth of veterinary products (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms (rubles) only 0.1% higher than that of the same period in 2018.
The dynamics are due to a decrease in the import of feed supplements in monetary terms, -8.2%. However, the import of feed supplements still amounts to as much as 16.8 bln RUB. The dynamics of the import of veterinary drugs in monetary terms are +10.4%, with over 13.8 bln RUB. The dynamics of the import of veterinary APIs are as high as +22%, with nearly 1.3 bln RUB.
Despite the varying dynamics in monetary terms, the dynamics in physical terms for all the categories are positive. The import of feed supplements has the lowest dynamics, +0.2% and 5.3 mln units. The dynamics of the import of veterinary drugs are +18.8% and 16 mln units. The import of veterinary APIs has the highest dynamics, +20.3% and 551 tons.
Among the top 15 manufacturers of feed supplements, Miavit has the highest dynamics with a 2.3 times increase. Choline Chloride contributed to the dynamics the most, its import has increased by 6.6 times in monetary terms. Basf also has high dynamics, with a 1.6 times increase, thanks to feed enzyme Natuphos (a 2.9 times increase). Pt. Cheil Jedang (Indonesia) has the lowest dynamics, -54% in monetary terms.
As for veterinary drugs, Bioveta (Czech) has the highest dynamics with a 2.6 times increase, thanks to drug for stimulation of estrous behavior and polyovulation Sergon (a 34 times increase), and antibacterial drug for cows Gamaret (a 12 times increase). Boehringer Ingelheim has the lowest dynamics, -21% in monetary terms.
Among the top 15 manufacturers of veterinary APIs, Shengli Bioengineering (Shandong, China) has the highest dynamics with an 11.3 times increase, even though the company imports only Tiamulin Hydrogen Fumarate. There are only two manufacturers of veterinary APIs with negative dynamics, and Huvepharma has the lowest dynamics, -29%.
