Russian “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs” (Vnesheconombank) opened financing for a project to organize the production of radiopharmaceuticals for the development of promising methods for cancer and heart diseases diagnosis – positron emission tomography (PET).
The project uses advanced Russian experience in the nuclear physical technologies and is aimed at creating a commercially demanded product on their basis.
“The new production will not only enable us to meet our own needs, but also to enter the world markets. Support for the production of high-tech industrial products with export potential is an undoubted priority for the Bank for Development, “notes Nikolay Tsekhomsky, First Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank – Member of the Board. “Nuclear medicine is one of the most promising directions of the world market of pharmaceutical and medical products.”
The implementation of the project also involves tools to support other Russian development institutions.
According to the memorandum on Vnesheconombank’s financial policy, the healthcare, including the introduction of innovative medical technologies, is one of the priority areas for investment.
