The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan developed a draft of the new Kyrgyzstan State Program for the Protection of Public Health and Development of the Health Care System “Healthy Person – Prosperous Country”.

In the course of implementation of the new Program, there are plans to improve the regulation and management of the circulation of medicines and medical products by strengthening the functions and activities of the drug circulation regulatory authorities, guided by the principles of transparency and good governance and their use throughout the pharmaceutical sector. To this end, regular monitoring and evaluation of the pharmaceutical sector will be organized through the introduction of an information database of medicines and providing access to information on medicines at all levels (prices, quality, rational use of medicines).

The plan includes establishing a system for regulating the prices of vital medicines and medical products to reduce out-of-pocket payments for medicines.

Required measures are under consideration that will help to increase the effectiveness of state selection, procurement, use of medicines and medical products, and improve management of medicines in healthcare facilities.
