Siberian State Medical University and Tomsk Regional Engineering Center will sign an agreement on cooperation, which will help innovative companies located in the Tomsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) together with the university scientists to design and develop innovative drugs and medical technologies and bring them from lab to industrial scale production.
Earlier, it was reported that the Siberian State Medical University received a license from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade for manufacturing medicinal products. The University is authorized to manufacture, store and sell pharmaceutical substances isolated from sources of plant origin, as well as sterile preparations obtained from medicinal plants, including solutions for injection.
According to the university, Olga Kobyakova, the Rector of the Siberian State Medical University, and Larisa Botaeva, the Head of Engineering Services at the Tomsk Regional Engineering Center, will sign an agreement on cooperation, which would allow the innovative companies in the Tomsk SEZ to “use the scientific potential of the university.”
“The centers of the Siberian State Medical University will help Tomsk-based projects and companies to develop and scale-up to industrial production new drugs and medical technologies,” said a representative of the university.
She added that the Siberian State Medical University plans to elaborate a roadmap for cooperation with the innovative companies aimed at implementing the projects of the National Technology Initiative in the Tomsk region.
