Essity, a global hygiene and health company, headquartered in Stockholm (Sweden), announced a restructurization of its Consumer Tissue production in France.

Essity is closing a converting facility for retail branded products in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray and invests in remaining integrated production facilities in France. The closure is expected during the fourth quarter of 2018. These measures are aligned with the company’s strategy to optimize the production footprint to increase cost and capital efficiency and further increase value creation in the Consumer Tissue business area. The restructuring costs are expected to amount to approximately SEK 480 million (approximately 46,7 million)

The company develops, manufactures and sells products and solutions within hygiene and health. The products portfolio contains tissue paper, baby diapers, feminine care (menstruation pads etc.), incontinence products, compression therapy, orthopedics and wound care. Essity was a part of the hygiene and forest products company SCA until 2017, when the company spun off the hygiene operations that became listed as a separate company. Essity has approximately 48 000 employees and net sales in 2017 amounted to 11.3 billion.
