The Angarsk Electrochemical Combine (AECC is a part of TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom) plans to develop a non-nuclear business.

A project for the development of the production of ATFMSK (Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride), a valuable raw material for the pharmaceutical industry, is ready at the plant. Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride is used as an intermediate for organic synthesis in the pharmaceutical, chemical and agrochemical industries.

According to preliminary estimations, the output will be up to 100 tons of the product per year. Production will be located on the industrial site of the plant, within the boundaries of the sanitary protection zone.

The impact on the environment will be minimal. According to environmentalists, the production waste could be classified not higher than hazard classes 3 and 4. The company is completely equipped for this waste disposal.  After being used in the production process, water will be first cleaned with the special equipment of AECC that was prepared specially for this purpose and only then, it will enter the enterprise’s industrial sewage system. Solid waste will be sent for utilization to a specialized organization that has the necessary licenses.
