A joint Russian-Chinese production line for implants used in traumatology and orthopedics was launched in the Rameyev Technopark.

“Penza region created good environment for developing the medical cluster, which includes 22 companies. The products of such company as MedEng represent a brand associated with the Penza region and Russia as a whole. They are supplied to 25 countries. But our development has not stopped at this, we are moving forward, and the proof of it is today’s opening of the production line for hip and knee prosthetic implants,” said Ivan Belozertsev, the Governor of the region.

In 2016, Titanmed, together with Chinese investors, established Penzaimplant, a company to implement an implant manufacturing project aimed primarily at import substitution.

“We are participating in this project together with our Chinese partners. Similar equipment was installed in China, and the technology was transferred here while preserving the entire production chain in order to avoid any technological deviation. I would like to note that we will use accurate and reliable machines made by a German-Japanese manufacturer. They are supplied from our plant in Ulyanovsk built in 2015,” said a Russian representative of DMG MORI.

According to Andrey Zhupikov, the General Director of Titanmed, the Chinese side will actively participate in the launch of production facility. In the future, once the enterprise reaches its production capacity, it will employ only local specialists from Penza. The program provides for gradual increase of production capacity over a two-year period.
