ACHEMA 2018, a leading international exhibition for chemical engineering, process industry and environmental protection technologies, was held on June 11-15 at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition center.
GMP News, a pharmaceutical industry information project, was not just a media partner of this major event, but also was involved in the activities of the exhibition.
A special summer issue of CIS GMP News, an English-language magazine, was published for this event in order to present the potential of pharmaceutical markets in Russia, CIS, and the Eurasian Economic Union. The summer issue of this English-language magazine was published with the support of Pharmcontract Group, a leading Russian pharmaceutical holding company; Rafarma JSC, a Russian innovative full-cycle pharmaceutical complex; and IMCoPharma, a Czech supplier of APIs. The main topics discussed at the stand of GMP News included the contract production of medicines and technological equipment at the facilities of Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers.
A collective exposition organized by the Russian Export Center was represented by twelve Russian companies. The exhibitors from Russia included LamSystems CJSC, a private holding company; PharmTechnologies LLC; and others.
ROLSTECH, a Russian company, exhibited at its stand the latest version of machine for applying labels on ampoules/cartridges/vials.
“Machines of this type are already operated by well-known companies in Russia and Belarus, including local plants of leading global pharmaceutical manufacturers. The novelty of machine is that it enables complete control of the label, including QR and pharmacodes, quality and correctness of applying variable data application, and 100% quality control at the output. This automated machine generated great interest among specialists, and we are conducting substantive negotiations on its supplies to various countries of the world,” said Vladimir Roizman, General Director of ROLSTECH.
During ACHEMA 2018, Pharmasyntez JSC and GEA, a company, signed a multi-million euro contract on the purchase of three production lines for hermetic manufacturing of potent hormonal drugs.
Vikram Punia, President of Pharmasyntez Group, said, “When it comes to manufacturing of hormonal drugs, we need to consider many critical parameters, such as the operator safety, dosage, cross-contamination, etc. GEA offered us a high-quality solution that meets all the above requirements. We understand that reliable solutions require substantial investment, but quality is paramount for the pharmaceutical industry, so this is why we chose GEA.”
As international exhibition, ACHEMA was organized for the first time in 1920 and, since then, it has been held every three years. In 2018, this major event was attended by more than 3.7 thousand exhibitors from 55 countries, who demonstrated the latest equipment and innovative processes for chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
