Moscow Endocrine Plant will acquire all sites of the former enterprise for destruction of chemical weapons in the Bryansk region in Q1 2019 aiming at establishing an affiliate for manufacturing active pharmaceutical substances. This was announced by Mikhail Fonarev, General Director of the Moscow Endocrine Plant.
“We have developed a plan together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Bryansk region on the stage-by-stage transfer of the plant and will fully acquire it in Q1 2019. We expect to complete acquisition by next April,” said the General Director.
According to the Deputy Governor of the Bryansk region Galina Petushkova, the sites of the former enterprise for destruction of chemical weapons in the city of Pochepa will be acquired by Moscow Endocrine Plant to turn them into the plant affiliate for manufacturing active pharmaceutical substances. In addition, the plant will be given an area for building a new 10-hectare landfill in the Pochepsky district for disposal of chemical waste from its newly established affiliate.
In February 2017, Sergey Lysenko, the Head of Economic Development Department of the Bryansk region, announced the plans to build a Bryansk affiliate of the Moscow Endocrine Plant at the site of the former enterprise for destruction of chemical weapons. At that time, it was expected that investments in the project would reach more than 6 billion rubles. The plant will manufacture raw materials for medicines that will substitute 70% of imports used by the enterprise.
