Belarus developed a technology for obtaining a pharmaceutical substance that can be used for manufacturing iodine-based medicines, announced Maria Sekach, Commercial Director of Belaseptika CJSC.
It enables the production of povidone iodine, an active substance. This pharmaceutical substance is a part of many disinfectant and antiseptic medicinal products produced not only by Belaseptika, but also by other Belarusian pharmaceutical companies. The technology developed by Belaseptika allows to obtain a highly effective competitive product that will address the issues of import substitution, since currently Belarusian companies are purchasing such raw materials as povidone iodine from foreign suppliers.
The development of pharmaceutical substance is at its final stage. The production of a technical lot is expected in the near future.
Belaseptika is actively implementing new technologies and quality control methods. It has accredited research and analytical laboratories. The manufacturing meets the requirements of good manufacturing practice, as confirmed by the relevant GMP certificates. For a pharmaceutical company, this is the top assessment of its conformity to the standards.
