At its meeting held on April 10, the Board of Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved (among other documents) the passport of anatomical therapeutic chemical classification system of drugs.
The use of codes provided by the classification system will become mandatory in the implementation of common processes of the Union in the area of drug circulation.
The document will be used in electronic collaboration between the authorized bodies of the Union’s member states, including for the maintenance of EAEU unified register of registered medicines.
The Federal State Budgetary Institution “Scientific Center for Expertise of Medical Products” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation was designated as the operator in charge of maintaining the classification system.
Anatomical therapeutic chemical classification system is an international drug classification system recommended by the World Health Organization. The system is actively used in pharmacoeconomics to keep records of drugs, and it is also used in clinical trials to assess concomitant therapy.
