Nearly 40 new drugs will be launched by the end of 2020 as a part of the State Program for Pharmaceutical Industry Development. This was announced today by Alexander Shumilin, the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, at the national scientific and practical conference with international participation “The Investment Attractiveness of Pharmaceutical Industry of the Republic of Belarus,” reported BelTA news agency citing the press service of the State Committee.
Alexander Shumilin said that the output of pharmaceutical products manufactured in 2017 under the State Program for Pharmaceutical Industry Development was worth more than 6 million Belarusian rubles. By the end of 2020, it is planned to complete works on 42 assignments of the program and launch about 40 new medicinal products.
2017 was marked by the development of more than 130 methods of medical care (diagnosis, treatment, medical disease prevention, medical rehabilitation of patients), and registration of 6 medicinal products, 9 diagnostic systems and medical devices. For the first time in the post-Soviet space, LOTIOS Scientific and Production Center developed and implemented Gamamin 40, an infusion solution based on amino acids for clinical parenteral nutrition, in Nesvizh Plant of Medical Preparations OJSC. It helps to prevent pathological conditions that may develop as the sequelae of surgery and burn injury, multiple injuries, sepsis, endogenous intoxication, chemical and radiation therapy, and oncological diseases.
