Kazakhstan begins exports of its pharmaceutical products to Mongolia and Vietnam

The Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek reported to Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev on the growth of Kazakhstan’s exports.

“The products of Kazakhstan’s processing industry are exported to 122 countries. Today, we see a substantial improvement in the qualitative structure of exports, as a third of exported products comes from non-resource sector of the economy,” said the Minister.

“New markets have been opened for some product categories,” added Zhenis Kassymbek.

Supplies of Kazakhstan-made products to the countries of Central Asia increased by 30%. The total exports to these countries reached 1.5 billion US dollars. Kazakhstan is a top 5 supplier and holds an 8% share in the imports of these countries.

“Domestic manufacturers increased their supplies of pharmaceutical products by 34% to reach 19 million dollars. In addition to the main markets, the pharmaceuticals and medical devices were for the first time exported to Mongolia and Vietnam,” he said.
