The enterprise was opened as part of implementing the investment project on establishing production of finished medicinal products with a design capacity of 100 tons of granules, 500 million capsules and coated tablets a year, including those for the treatment of tuberculosis and HIV infections.
The official opening ceremony was attended by the Indian ambassador to Russia Pankaj Saran.
The first stage of the enterprise began to operate on March 14, and the investments amounted to more than 500 million rubles. The total cost of the project is 1.5 billion rubles.
Speaking at the opening of the plant, the governor of the region Yevgeny Savchenko emphasized the importance of the project not only for the Belgorod region, but also for Russia in general, “This is a premiere not only for our region but also for the entire nation. Indian investors have implemented this important project, but it is only the beginning, and a lot of work lies ahead. The enterprise will manufacture unique pharmaceutical products for the treatment of HIV, tuberculosis, and oncological diseases.”
Pankaj Saran, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russia, said, “This is an excellent example of the best cooperation between India and Russia. Such activities allow us to build a new future. I would like to express my gratitude to the governor because, without his support, the project would not have been implemented. The example of this enterprise shows us that it is possible to invest in Russia.”
