The construction of JivaPharm plant for the joint venture between Belarus and India in Kolyadichi is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
“The construction works on the project are proceeding in accordance with the schedule. The frame for the first floor of the building has been already installed. The Ministry of Health agreed the nomenclature of medicinal products to be manufactured at the new plant. This will include the drugs for the treatment of oncological diseases, AIDS, therapy of viral hepatitis C, and other diseases,” announced the press service of the plant.
The General Agreement on strategic partnership between Hetero, an Indian company, and the Ministry of Health of Belarus was signed in September 2017. The project provides for the establishment of pilot industrial facility to manufacture the antiretroviral drugs and common medicines in tablets and capsules. Along with the production areas for manufacturing the solid dosage forms, the production building includes a modern experimental laboratory designed for development of new products and small batches of medicines.
Overall, Belarus is establishing three pharmaceutical plants with the participation of Indian investments. These facilities are located in Kolyadichi, Skidel, and Beshenkovichi.
