The Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov and Alexey Gordeyev, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District, launched the second production line at the pharmaceutical plant of ZiO-Zdorovie CJSC in Podolsk.
“It is very important when new plants are opened in our country and in our Moscow region. Last year, we opened 53 plants in the Moscow region. It is our strong expectation that with so great energy of the shareholder and with our support the bold projects will continue to be implemented in the future. We are ready to contribute to this,” said the Governor.
Last year, ZiO-Zdorovie and the government of the Moscow region signed an agreement that allowed the company to obtain the benefits on profit and property taxes. As part of implementing this agreement, the investor contributed 1 billion 214 million rubles to the new project, which created additional 180 new jobs. This will allow to produce the medicines included in the list of vital and essential drugs (De-Nol, Vilprafen, Ursosan, Indap). The capacity of the second phase of facility is more than 1.2 billion tablets and capsules a year, while the total capacity of the plant will exceed 2 billion units of solid dosage forms.
According to Vladimir Babiy, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Pharmeco, a pharmaceutical group of companies, the drugs manufactured at ZiO-Zdorovie plant will be exported to the Eastern Europe and the CIS.
ZiO-Zdorovie CJSC was established in 2001 and has an area of 1.6 hectares. It produces high-quality drugs that meet Russian and European requirements. In collaboration with Western companies, the plant manufactures a number of medicines under the import substitution program.
