In Q3 2018, Nearmedic, a Russian pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical company, plans to launch a plant for the full-cycle production of collagen-based medicinal products in Mosalsky District of Kaluga region, being the only one facility of this type in Russia.
The investments in the project will exceed 40 million rubles, and the production capacity will be 200 thousand packages a year. The plant is scheduled for launch in Q3 2018.
“The new site will manufacture the medicinal products based on collagen extracted from the cattle skins. This will be the only facility in Russia carrying out the full-cycle production from original biological raw materials to sterile, finished forms. In accordance with the planned design, the classification levels of premises will conform to EU pharmaceutical standards, and the products will comply with the EU export requirements,” announced the company.
The products made from collagen will be manufactured in various forms, such as gel, membrane, and powder. They will be used in all areas of medicine, including the general surgery, cosmetology, dentistry, obstetrics, and gynecology.
