The plant will carry out the full-cycle production of Utrogestan, a unique hormonal drug for women. The medicine is included in the Russian list of vital and essential drugs. The lockup stage in the construction of the building is already completed, and the workers have began to install the internal utility networks.
The construction of the plant will be finished by the end of this year. The first commercial lot is scheduled for production by 2020.
“Our region is actively developing the cluster of modern pharmaceutical industry and innovative medicine. Today, Yaroslavl region is among the top three leaders in terms of this parameter,” said Galina Penyagina, the Director of the regional Department of Investments and Industry. “Besins Healthcare holding company became the sixth resident of the Yaroslavl pharmaceutical cluster. The regional authorities provide support at all stages of this project ranging from the selection of land plot for construction, provision of the infrastructure and up to connection to utilities and communications.”
Today, Novoselki industrial park has a Technology Transfer Center involved in the development of innovative and import substituting medicinal products and training of personnel for the pharmaceutical industry. The plans for the near future include the opening of the Quality Control Center, a federal laboratory of Roszdravnadzor. The Center will perform testing of the medicinal products before they are released into circulation.
