Akvelit, a company from Tomsk, signed a contract to supply the unique fabric for manufacturing Vita Vallis, the antiseptic wound healing dressings, to the Indian market. According to Natalia Kirilova, the Director of Akvelit, the Tomsk-based manufacturer partnered with Optimed Sales and Distribution Network Private Limited, a company that organizes the manufacturing of final products in India.

Earlier, it was reported that the wound healing dressings were developed by the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and first appeared on the market in 2011. The dressings produce the effect of electropositive adsorption and, like a magnet, remove the microorganisms from the wound. As a result, the wounds are healing faster and almost without any scars, while the dressings do not lead to habituation or allergies.

“We were negotiating with Optimed Sales and Distribution Network Private Limited for almost two years. For us, the Indian market is big and promising. We will supply the “raw materials” in the form of sheets for Vita Vallis dressings, which will be cut and packaged by our partners in India. To do this, they are building a small production facility and obtaining all necessary certificates,” said Ms. Kirilova.

She explained the need to establish a packaging facility by peculiarities of the Indian market. According to Ms. Kirilova, Akvelit will supply to its partners the dressing materials for manufacturing 50,000 – 55,000 dressings a month, and the total volume for 2018 will be about 500,000 dressings.
