Korean companies will invest in pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan

The Republic of Korea will invest $25 million in the manufacturing of its drugs in Uzbekistan, announced the press center established to cover the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Korea.

The agreements on manufacturing highly efficient Korean medicinal products in Uzbekistan were reached by the Agency for Pharmaceutical Industry Development under the Ministry of Health during the state visit of Mr. Mirziyoyev to Seoul.

The agreement with leading Korean companies Dalim BioTech, Yuhan Corporation, and Erae provides for the investment of $25 million in Uzbekistan.

The parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of investment projects. A special attention was paid to seven new pharmaceutical free economic zones established in Uzbekistan. Korean companies noted the socio-economic reforms in the country and expressed their firm commitment to operate and invest in Uzbekistan.
