The scientists from Faculty of Chemistry of the Tomsk State University (TSU) want to establish collaboration with leading Indian universities to conduct joint studies in the area of pharmaceuticals and chemistry, said Irina Kurzina, the representative of the faculty and senior researcher at the Laboratory for Catalytic Research of Tomsk State University.

“The chemical and pharmaceutical industries are highly developed in India. There is also a very strong chemistry school. We follow their publications in international scientific journals and we really believe that their work is of world class level. We hope that this meeting will allow us to reach the next level of communication so that we can set up online conferences and establish online communication,” said Ms. Kurzina to reporters.

She noted that the scientists from Tomsk are also interested to learn about the experience of their colleagues in the area of new pharmaceutical technology.

“As a result, we hope to benefit from their advice and experience,” said Irina Kurzina.

She added that, during the visit, the guests could become familiar with the level of research in TSU, which can be described as “promising in the area of pharmaceuticals.” In particular, the visiting delegation attended the presentations about the dehydrogenation catalysts, catalysts for selective oxidation of hydrogens and new processes of organic synthesis.
