B.Braun will invest 3 billion rubles to localize manufacturing in Tver

During the meeting of the Governor of Tver region Igor Rudenya with Mikhail Petukhov, General Director of B. Brown Medical LLC, and Maxim Zakharchenko, General Director of Gematek LLC, there was a discussion of the further development of a production facility for infusion solutions located in Tver.

In 2005, Gematek LLC launched its plant for infusion solutions in Tver. In 2008, the company was acquired by B. Braun Melsungen, a German company.

Today, the plant with a capacity of 38 million vials a year operates 24/7 and employs 250 people.

“B. Braun sees the opportunities for the development in the Russian Federation and, specifically, in the Tver region, and, thus, considers localization of the manufacturing using the existing sites and neighboring land plot. We plan to invest over 3 billion rubles within five years,” said Mikhail Petukhov.

The plans provide for the construction of manufacturing and logistics complex with the phased commissioning of a production facility for medical devices, suture materials, orthopedic implants, and disinfection products. As a result, in 10 years, the company expects to expand its portfolio of products manufactured in Russia up to 2 thousand items. The number of new jobs will be 250. After the plant reaches its design capacity, the expected tax revenues to consolidated budget of the Tver region will exceed 86 million rubles.
