The new plant for medical stents and instruments will be located close to Lesnoy Avenue in Petrozavodsk. The project of Kankor LLC is estimated at 750 million rubles.
To implement it, the investor was granted the right to lease, without a tender, two land plots with a total surface area of over 19 thousand sq. m. The corresponding order was signed on September 28 by the Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov. The investment project is supported by the Development Corporation of the Republic of Karelia. A cooperation agreement between the Development Corporation and Kankor LLC was concluded in 2016. According to the road map, the plant for medical stents and instruments will be built in 2018, and its capacity will reach 40 thousand manufactured items a year. This will create about 60 new jobs.
The goal of the project is to saturate the Russian market with import-substituting high-tech medical products. According to investors, based on the forecast of 15% annual growth in the number of PCIs (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention), the new plant has a real chance to reach, in a few years, the output and sales of cardio stents that will fully meet the needs of the Northwestern Federal District.
