As part of monitoring the projects of the State Innovative Development Program for 2016-2020, the Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin visited RUE Belmedpreparaty, which is implementing three high-tech projects. One of them – “Establishing Pilot Production Facility of Oral Antitumoral Drugs Made with Isolating Technology” – is financed by the company and the Innovation Fund of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The project relates to the Fifth Techno-Economic Paradigm. Its innovative nature is in the establishment of manufacturing of cytostatic antitumor drugs based on isolating technology, which is new for Belarus. This allows to implement the technological processes using the equipment, that is completely isolated from personnel and production environment, and exclude harmful emissions into the air. The project will include the implementation of international GMP standards.
Currently, RUE Belmedpreparaty received the permit and completed the works on first stage of designing the facility.
During his visit, Alexander Shumilin also discussed with the company’s management the prospects for manufacturing the biotech medicines for the treatment of socially important diseases (targeted therapy for oncological diseases, relapse-free treatment of acute infarctions, etiotropic therapy for hepatitis C). At least 7 bioanalogs are planned to be created in the near future.
