Biokhimik, a company from the Republic of Mordovia, manufactures more than 100 medicinal products, 70% of which are included in the list of vital and essential drugs. 18 months ago, the plant launched a new production line for manufacturing the tablets. Under this project, the company built a complex of clean rooms fully compliant with GMP requirements and installed advanced technological equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers. In 2016, it began the construction of a new workshop for liquid sterile medicinal products in ampoules, small- and large-dosage vials, and pre-filled syringes.
So far, the plant has developed and produces two types of substances of most advanced antibiotics; and, by the end of this year, the enterprise will begin the industrial manufacturing of four types of substances.
The acting Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov said that the implementation of the project to develop new antibiotics has great importance for entire Russia. “Establishing full-cycle manufacturing of the most advanced antibiotics is our contribution to national drug provision security. The project addresses the tasks of import substitution and reduces the dependence on foreign drug manufacturers. By combining the efforts of the plant’s owner and the Republic, we will do our best to make Biokhimik the largest Russian pharmaceutical manufacturer,” said the leader of Mordovia.
