SunPharma starts building a plant in Azerbaijan

The ceremony of laying foundation for a plant of solid dosage forms was held in Sumqayit, Azerbaijan, on July 14, announced the Ministry of Economy.

“The plant, which is being built by SunPharma, an Indian company, will begin its operations at the end of next year. The manufacturing capacity will be 200 million tablets, 40 million capsules, and 20 million ampoules a year,” reported the Ministry.

The products of the plant will help to meet the demand for drugs within Azerbaijan and will be also exported to CIS and other international markets.

The exclusive rights to sell the products of SunPharma in Azerbaijan are held by GunPharma.

The ceremony of laying the foundation of the plant was attended by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev. The enterprise will become the first plant of solid dosage forms and the third pharmaceutical plant being built in Azerbaijan.
