Palladio BNM opens a pharmaceutical packaging plant in Russia

The official ceremony marking the opening of Palladio BNM plant to manufacture the packages for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products was held in the city of Obninsk.

Palladio BNM plant has became the sixth and largest enterprise for manufacturing pharmaceutical and cosmetic packages, owned by an international company Palladio Groupand, yet another resident of the Obninsk site within the Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Biomedicine Cluster. The investments in the project already amount to more than 10 million euros. It is planned that they will reach 17 million euros. The first stage of production facility has been put into operation. In the future, the plant will have a surface area of 12.5 thousand square meters and provide about 200 new jobs.

In his welcome speech at the opening ceremony, Anatoly Artamonov, the Head of the Kaluga region, said, “The President of our country set up a goal to completely eliminate the dependence on the imports of medicinal products. This work is now going successfully. Kaluga Pharmaceutical Cluster is among the eleven best clusters in Russia. Just a few years ago, we did not have a single pharmaceutical enterprise here but, today, there are already 63 participants in this pharmaceutical cluster.” At the same time, the governor noted the special importance of this package manufacturing plant opening for the development of regional economy and expressed the willingness of regional authorities to provide comprehensive support to such projects. “I am sure that, with their tremendous experience in starting up such production facilities, the founders of the company will take into account all the subtleties of that market. And we will be helping them,” said Anatoly Artamonov.
