The National Center for Expertise of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission (ChPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Bilateral Cooperation.

The provisions of the Memorandum provide for sharing the experience in the creation and improvement of pharmacopeia standards, expert examination of medicines, and the fight against counterfeit and falsified products.

The plans for cooperation include the continued work on the project to establish the Global Pharmacopeia Index initiated earlier by the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission. Another promising area is the elaboration of a section in the State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicated to traditional Kazakh medicine, similar to the standards of Chinese Pharmacopoeia for traditional Chinese medicine.

A significant part of the Memorandum deals with the cooperation in the area of joint scientific, practical, educational and publishing activities.
