Last week, Active Component, a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical substances, closed the deal to buy Slavyansky integrated house-building factory and 5 hectares of land in Pushkinsky district, the amount of transaction is 400 million rubles, announced the president of Active Component at the conference “Pharmaceutical Business: Development Prospects in the North-Western Federal District” held by Vedomosti newspaper. The sellers were David Traktovenko and Sergey Podobed, the owners of Baltros construction company. According to Mr. Semenov, the site and the building were purchased to establish a new pharmaceutical plant, in which Active Component will invest about 2 billion rubles.
The building constructed in 2010 is located within 500 meters of Pushkin pharmaceutical cluster, and the site can accommodate an additional production capacity, said Mr. Semenov. The surface area of the building is about 22,000 square meters. Up to 10,000 square meters will be occupied by a Department of the Chemical Pharmaceutical Academy and the labs of partner companies, while about 12,000 square meters will be allocated to production facilities, he added. The new plant will allow to increase the manufacturing of substances from 40 to 80-100 tons per year.
The portfolio of the company includes more than 50 substances, it cooperates with Russian manufacturers (Nizhpharm, Pharmstandard, Vertex, Akrikhin, and others), as well as with drug manufacturers from Serbia, Israel, and Germany.
