More than 600 projects received support under the state program “Development of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry” until 2020. 44 medicinal products included in the List of Vital and Essential Drugs (VED) were launched during the implementation of the program. These figures were announced by Olga Kolotilova, Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
In the past 2 years, the Russian pharmaceutical industry demonstrated exceptional growth rates. 24 Russian medicinal products included in the List of VED were launched in 2016. This year, another 20 medicines will be launched.
“We hold weekly meetings with the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation regarding state registration of medicinal products that received support under the state program “Development of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry,” said Olga Kolotilova.
Another prominent trend is the growing interest of companies on the Russian market to manufacturing of pharmaceutical substances. For example, half of the projects in the pharmaceutical industry supported by the Industrial Development Fund in the last year were related to manufacturing of substances.
