Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU); Merck, a science and technology company engaged in health care, life science, production of high-tech materials; and FEFU Foundation have signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding. The parties plan to continue their cooperation in the format of strategic partnership.
“Strategic cooperation with a major regional player, such as Far Eastern Federal University, is an important step toward the implementation of our strategy in Russia involving the development of scientific and technological partnership with leading science and education centers, as well as the promotion of technology transfer and development of innovative biotechnological and biopharmaceutical production facilities,” said Jürgen König, President and General Director of Merck Russia & CIS.
The goal of the future strategic partnership will be to improve the quality of education and conduct joint educational and scientific research in the School of Biomedicine and Medical Center of FEFU. The parties plan to consider the possibility of organizing and conducting joint trainings in the area of biomedical sciences in the university or relevant units of Merck.
“The partnership with Merck opens new opportunities for Far Eastern Federal University to implement projects related to research and development of advanced technologies for the medicine of the future,” said acting rector of FEFU Nikita Anisimov.
