More than half of the medicinal products included in the List of Vital and Essential Drugs (VED) are already manufactured in Russia. This was announced by Igor Kagramanyan, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, in his speech at the forum “State Order: Fair Procurement.”
“420 out of 646 international non-proprietary names are already being manufactured in Russia, and we have to achieve the same with regard to medical devices,” he said.
According to Mr. Kagramanyan, even today, up to 60% of perinatal centers use the Russian-made equipment.
“There are all prerequisites to make a substantial leap forward in this direction over the coming years,” he added.
