The representatives of St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums and CRACIBA, the Regional Argentine-Russian Chamber of Commerce, discussed prospects for developing and implementing joint research and technical projects and programs in the area of pharmacology at the meeting between Victor Trukhin, the Director of St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums, and Alejandro Reale, the President of CRACIBA, held in St. Petersburg.

The participants discussed, among other things, the issues related to organizing the manufacturing of original medicines based on Russian knowledge-intensive technologies, including the coordination of efforts to register the medicines produced by St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums in ANMAT(the National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Devices of Argentina).

“At this stage of cooperation, we find it particularly important to ensure the homologation of existing marketing authorizations of St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums previously issued by CECMED, a Cuban Center, to allow deliveries to the Argentine market,” said Victor Trukhin, the Director of St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums.

St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums is already supplying the flu prevention vaccine to Latin American countries, and implements, at the instructions of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the project aimed at building Mechnikov S.A., a modern immunobiological enterprise in Nicaragua, and transferring the technology for manufacturing the flu prevention vaccine.
