The Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare released a draft report “On the results of the work of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare in 2016, Plans for 2017 and Planning Period.”
According to published information, in 2016, Roszdravnadzor implemented a new type of state control in the form of selective quality control of medicinal products.
The effectiveness of selective quality control of medicinal products was confirmed by the increased number of identified low-quality medicinal products (3.5% of the total number of tested samples of medicinal products) compared to the federal state supervision in the area of circulation of medicines (2.9% of the total number of tested samples).
As a result of measures to control the quality of medicinal products, Roszdravnadzor withdrew from circulation 1938 series of medicinal products that failed to meet the established quality requirements, which is 0.81% of the total number of series that came into civil circulation in 2016 (in 2016, 0.9%).
In 2016, together with the Federal Customs Service, Roszdravnadzor stopped the import of 84,558 packages of 6 trade names of 36 series of low quality medicinal products, and continued to analyze information on the quality certificates for imported pharmaceutical substances in order to monitor their compliance with the quality requirements established in the Russian Federation.
