The statement was made by Denis Manturov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, who gave a lecture about development of pharmaceutical industry at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
“Since 2009 we have built 28 new plants, eight of them – with the efforts of foreign enterprises. These results became possible due to the investments in science and field-specific universities. Today, over 30 institutions of higher education and more than 40 units of Academy of Sciences are engaged in the development. In 2016, the share of Vital and Essential Drugs amounted to 76.8 %. While the growth of pharmaceutical industry reached 20 %,” said D. Manturov.
He specified that the entire range of measures was elaborated to support the industry, including co-funding of preclinical and clinical studies of innovative drugs, co-funding of the projects aimed at development of import-substitute medicinal products that are part of the VED list, subsidizing of advanced productions, upgrade and renovation of pharmaceutical industry, improving legal framework for procurement in pharmacy sector.
