The first batch of innovative medicinal product, produced at the new pilot-line production site of the company Dubna-Biopharm, the resident of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Dubna, appeared in the pharmacies of Moscow region. “Okvis” eye drops will help hundreds of patients with visual impairment.
“This medication is not inferior to the foreign analogs,” says Deputy General Director of the Dubna-Biopharm LLC Nikolay Belousov. “It has unique properties. After being applied, viscoelastic solution literally coats the mucous membranes of the eye and its cornea. Some components of the medicinal product alleviate edema and inflammation, while the other ones protect the eyes from mechanical damage and other adverse factors. Therefore, ophthalmologists recommend drops to speed healing after a surgery, in case of the dry eye syndrome, eye fatigue, and in some other cases.”
“The resident plans not only to set up production of medicines in SEZ Dubna,” says Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government – Minister of Investments and Innovations of the Moscow Region Denis Butsaev. “Here, in the new building, which is under construction now, the company intends to start the development and pilot production of new materials, technologies and methods of treatment in ophthalmology, which will meet the global GMP standards.”
